The Daily Show anchor Jon Stewart and his wife Tracey have bought a farm in New Jersey. When Stewart goes off-air in August, the Stewarts aren’t going to just sit back and watch the daisies grow but turn the farm into an animal sanctuary, “where rescued farm animals can live out their natural lives in peace.”
The Stewarts are already owners of four dogs, two horses, two pigs, three rabbits, two guinea pigs, two hamsters, one parrot and two fish who, as Tracey Stewart, a former veterinary technician, told USA Today, were “all rescues.” Tracey’s first book, Do Unto Animals, will be published in October. It’s a “friendly guide to How Animals Live, and How We Can Make Their Lives Better” with 300 color illustrations by artist Lisel Ashlock. A portion of the proceeds will go to Farm Sanctuary.
