Kurt McVeigh whisks his lawyer wife Diane Lockhart away from the office and into the Wyoming woods on The Good Wife (March 22, 9pm, CBS). During their three-day hunting trip, McVeigh introduces Diane to R.D., a conservative, gun loving billionaire businessman. R.D.’s considered the top one percent of the top one percent. He has so much money and political clout, you can bet your Second Amendment this isn’t the last time we see R.D. on The Good Wife.
R.D. is portrayed by Oliver Platt. He’s best known for his TV roles as Stavros Milos on the new show Fargo, Paul Jamison on The Big C, and George Steinbrenner in The Bronx Is Burning, and White House Counsel Oliver Babish on The West Wing, among other potent roles. And then there are all the films he’s been in including Frost/Nixon, Kinsey, Indecent Proposal, Postcards from the Edge, and Married to the Mob. Fun fact about Platt: his father, Nicholas Platt is a former ambassador to Pakistan, Zambia, and the Philippines.
