Tom Hanks can’t win another Oscar for his bravura performance in Carly Rae Jepsen’s “I Really Like You” video (watch below), but he sure looks like he’s trying. Hanks’ deep comic roots are on delightful display in this lip-synching masterpiece. (His Forrest Gump ping-pong swat is just perfect.)
Jepsen’s got a great sense of humor, obviously. And you know who else must? Justin Bieber, who makes a cameo here too. (Watch carefully!) It’d be great if Hanks, like so many movie stars, would record his own album–and do this Carly Rae song in his real voice. Surely Hanks has found his way into popular music before–some enterprising DJ must have sampled his “there’s no crying in baseball.” You can just hear it echoing at the club.
