Nicholas Brendon, the actor who once slayed vampires with Buffy on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, can’t slay his own demons. The 43-year-old was arrested in Tallahassee, Florida and charged with “criminal mischief.” He was tearing apart his hotel room when police were summoned. It’s the third time in the last six months that Brendon has been arrested for the same thing. Pills were found. And an overflowing toilet that was probably the receptacle for other contraband.
After his February arrest for trashing his room at a Ft. Lauderdale Hilton, Brendon’s representatives issued a statement that hinted at his drug and alcohol problems: “Nicholas’ unfortunate incident in Fort Lauderdale has led to a reevaluation of his past, present and future choices… Nicholas suffers from an incredibly difficult disease that is misunderstood by those who have never been affected, but he’s not using that as an excuse. His fans mean everything to him and his intentions to get healthy are sincere. He apologizes for his behavior and intends on making changes for the future.” It’s a difficult disease, indeed. Brendon has a recurring role on Criminal Minds he’ll try to keep.
