Emmy-winning actress Valerie Harper (Rhoda, The Mary Tyler Moore Show) will appear on the CBS sitcom 2 Broke Girls. The current CBS hit has echoes of The Mary Tyler Moore Show–the iconic TV show from the 1970s. On Mary Tyler Moore, Mary and her girlfriend Rhoda were two hardworking young women trying to make it big in the city, although they didn’t have the entrepreneurial spirit of the 2 Broke Girls, Max and Caroline, who are trying to build a cupcake empire in Manhattan.
On 2 Broke Girls Harper’s character is a customer at the diner where Max and Caroline work. Harper keeps her successful career as a professional photographer a secret – until a photo of Max shows up in an art gallery. Will the Valerie Harper character’s art world acclaim change the way the girls see her? 2 Broke Girls airs Mondays at 8pm on CBS. P.S. Is Max Rhoda, and Caroline Mary? Or more the other way around?
