On the reality TV show The Bachelor, dozens of women fight over one man. The winner is decided by the man, who at the end of the show proposes marriage. It’s not the pinnacle of feminism but it’s a huge hit for network TV, and it’s great exposure for the women, most of whom are pursuing modeling/acting careers. (Otherwise they wouldn’t be on the show!)
This season’s Bachelor is Chris Soules, a farmer from a small town in Iowa. He recently took the remaining six ladies to his hometown to give them a taste of their potential future. (If you believe that Soules and his future fiancée will actually live there…) Anyway, one of the six women is Jade Roper, 28, who once posed naked for Playboy and also starred in a stripping video which leaves her fully nude. Some viewers are outraged by her past, because they feel duped. Roper plays a shy character on the show – she could barely get up to sing a song in front of everyone on The Bachelor. Maybe it would have helped if she was naked? Think Roper is the only Bachelor castmember who’s posed nude?
