Jamie Brewer, the 30-year-old woman who was the first person with Down syndrome to grace the catwalk of New York Fashion Week, is really an actress. She’s trained at “The Groundlings Theatre and School” and continues to study at “The Ruskin School of Acting.”
You might recognize her as Adelaide “Addie” Langdon in American Horror Story (2011). Brewer is now filming the documentary My Next Breath. It’s about “an unusual” acting class in Hollywood that creates a movie based on the students’ lives. Brewer’s co-stars include Geri Jewell who has cerebral palsy (The Facts of Life), little person Mark Povinelli (Water for Elephants), and Angela Rockwood who was left paralyzed after a car accident. My Next Breath is scheduled to be released in 2016.
