George Zimmerman, the Florida man who killed teenager Trayvon Martin, is facing a charge of aggravated assault. He is accused of throwing a bottle of wine at his girlfriend. He was arrested Friday night. But his lawyer, Don West, said the fight happened on Monday – nobody called the cops then. So how did the cops know to arrest Zimmerman? The Orlando Sentinel reports “Police found out about the fight when they pulled Zimmerman’s girlfriend over for a routine traffic stop.”
Zimmerman’s $5,000 bond was paid at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility. His next court date is February 17.
