When Olympic figure skater Gracie Gold isn’t hanging out with Taylor Swift, Lorde and members of the band Haim on Catalina, she’s in Los Angeles skating. Just this week, the L. A. Sports Council named Gold the 2014 Sportswoman of the Year. A big ceremony will be held in her honor on March 15.
The 19-year-old US National champion just posted a video of her return to the ice (she suffered a stress fracture in her left foot) on Instagram. At the Toyota Sports Complex in El Segundo, where the Kings and Lakers practice, Gold performed to Taylor Swift’s song Shake It Off. Next week, Gold will defend her title at the US Nationals in Greensboro, North Carolina.
