Bill Cosby was performing in Canada on Thursday night when a female heckler offered Cosby a drink. Cosby reportedly replied: “You have to be careful about drinking around me.” Members of the audience initially gasped at the joke but then “the reaction quickly turned to applause,” according to tweets from those in attendance.
Dawn, who attended the show with her husband and three children, said it was a difficult decision to use her tickets. “We spent more than $700 on tickets to see someone we’ve supported for years.” She added, “Just because you go to the show doesn’t mean you think he’s not guilty,” she said. “I want to hear what he has to say.”
