Nation, nation. This lightsaber will do nicely, thank you. So sayeth Star Wars sage Stephen Colbert about the highly controversial (seriously) lightsaber design hinted at in the tiny trailer for The Force Awakens, the next iteration of George Lucas’ personal cash machine. (Well he sold some of it, but still.)
The lightsaber has too much light, including beams from the hilt, making a cool-looking cross but rendering it highly impractical! That’s what screams coming from the Internet said anyway. Colbert deftly dealt with this controversy, then moved onto things like Ferguson, Missouri, where the weapons have drummed up slightly more controversy.
