After Scott Catt married his high school sweetheart Beth, they settled in the suburbs of Oregon’s wine country. They had two kids, Hayden and Abby Catt. When Hayden was 4 and Abby was 2, Beth was diagnosed with breast cancer and died. Although their father started drinking heavily after Beth’s death, and eventually lost their home, Hayden and Abby idolized their father.
When the kids were in high school, Scott moved the family to Texas. That’s where and when Scott invited his son to help him rob a bank. (Scott had successfully robbed the bank before.) The father/son team was a success. And then Hayden asked his sister to join them. After their second bank heist together, all three were all arrested in November 2012. Hayden was 20, Abby 18. Their story will featured on ABC’s 20/20 Saturday on December 27 at 10pm.
