“Facebook — It’s A Website About Nothing!” — Jordy Toigo
Proving once again that it enables everybody, not just stars, Facebook gave some love to Jordy Toigo this week. Toigo came up with the witty line above in response to a dialog between famous personages, Jerry Seinfeld and Mark Zuckerberg. New Facebook adopter Seinfeld was delighted about the big Facebook referral traffic for his latest Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee web show, so he wrote Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg a note thanking him. Seinfeld ended with a typical Seinfeldian ironic observation: “I think you really might have something here,” the comedian said to the billionaire entrepreneur.
That’s when Jordy Toigo jumped in with his comment: “Facebook — It’s A Website About Nothing!”, combining the famous recipe for Seinfeld’s old show with what everybody knows to be true about Facebook. Toigo’s response went viral too. “That’s GOLD, Jordy…Gold!” wrote Marcus Osmun in response. Facebook user Keisha Rene told Toigo exactly what happened: “you win the internet today!” Yup. But Pedro de Simone Piccoli seemed to echo excitedly the thoughts of many: “this is the most true, brilliant and precise comment ever made in the history of the Internet!”
