Little House on the Prairie author Laura Ingalls Wilder died in 1957 but her autobiography, Prairie Girl: The Annotated Autobiography just found a publisher! The South Dakota State Historical Society Press is releasing the book on Monday, November 17, 2014.
Edited by the Historical Society’s Pamela Smith Hill, the book isn’t all Half-Pint and Pa. It includes “stark scenes of domestic abuse, love triangles gone awry and a man who lit himself on fire while drunk.” This isn’t a book to buy on Amazon or Barnes & Noble. You should really buy it directly from the historical society. All proceeds go to organization that made this book possible. It’s a beautiful, 9” x 10” hardback available for $39.95.
