“I think, on a very drawn-out scale, I’m on the [autism] spectrum,” Jerry Seinfeld told Brian Williams on NBC Nightly News. Seinfeld is apparently self-diagnosed, but explaining the “markers” that placed him on the spectrum he mentioned “never paying attention to the right things. Basic social engagement is really a struggle.”
Millions of autism advocates will be pleased to recognize what they already know in another Seinfeld statement on his autism: “I don’t see it as dysfunctional,” the comedian said. “I just think of it as an alternate mindset.” The 60-year-old Seinfeld has another hit on his hands with his web series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.
