It’s been almost a full year since Friday Night Lights star Taylor Kitsch has been on camera. “I’m itching, man. I’m overdue,” he told Adweek magazine. What will relieve his itch is a role on season 2 of True Detective. Kitsch will join Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn for HBO’s hit drama series. Justin Lin of The Fast & Furious will direct the season’s first two episodes.
Fans of the former model Kitsch hope he plays another bad boy who likes to take his clothes off as he did on FNL. But as Kitsch told Vanity Fair, he’s more than “that guy on the show that’s always shirtless.” He said he battled tooth and nail against those shirtless scenes. On having to take off his pants for that memorable refrigerator scene, Kitsch didn’t mind. In fact, he said, “I loved that. That wasn’t written. I started the scene outside the door. As Riggins, I said to myself ‘Why the fuck am I in these clothes?’ before I opened the door. So, when I opened the fridge, in my head, I was like, ‘Get these clothes off.’”
