An Australian man named Dylan Thomas was visiting Bali when he had a tropical spider burrow into his body “presumably through a recent appendix scar,” according to Huffpost UK. The spider was crawling on the inside of his skin and leaving a scary looking red trail on the outside, stretching from his belly button to his left nipple. It looked right out of a horror movie. The 21-year-old Thomas told NT News it was “as if someone had scratched me with the tip of a knife.”
At first doctors treated it lightly, giving him some cream to put on it. But when the red line started to erupt in blisters Thomas sought a second opinion. A dermatologist thought something pretty odd was going on. Doctors then removed a tiny tropical spider who was to blame for the blistering line up Thomas’ abdomen. The spider is being tested and Mr. Thomas feels fine.
