The third and final Hobbit film arrives this Christmas. Peter Jackson and Middle Earth have been good to New Zealand tourism, and Air New Zealand is riding the wave of popularity with its new safety video: The Most Epic Safety Video Ever Made, featuring cameos by several of the Trilogy’s stars, including Elijah Wood and Sylvester McCoy, and director Peter Jackson. You’ll never look at an oxygen mask the same way again.
This is not the first time that Middle Earth has featured in an airline safety video. As Mashable points out, “Air New Zealand has a reputation for dramatic flight safety videos. Some classics include the Richard Simmons dance party, and Baywatch’s David Hasselhoff riding a tiny horse.”
