If one of the world’s bestselling artists of all time approaches a singer with just two albums under her tiny belt, the latter is going to step up her game. Seven-time Grammy Award winning singer/musician Gloria Estefan is producing an autobiographical musical about her life called On Your Feet!. She told the New York Daily News that Problem singer Ariana Grande would be “somebody wonderful” for the lead. Esteban saw Grande when she was 8 years old, performing on a cruise ship and was immediately impressed.
Whoever gets the opportunity to play/sing Gloria Estefan on the Great White Way must be able to sing in English and Spanish. Ariana is said to be studying Spanish. She did produce a Spanglish version of her hit single The Way in 2013, but she has a long way to go before being able to nail a song from Estefan’s first Spanish album, Mi Tierra.
