Jimmer Fredette is making the most of his opportunities for the New Orleans Pelicans so far. He’s scored in double figures in three straight preseason contests, including going 5 for 10 for 13 points in a loss to a strong Washington Wizards team last night. But that’s just half the game–and few doubt that Jimmer, who in his college days at BYU became a national sensation shooting the ball from everywhere but the parking lot, can fill up the hoop in the right offensive scheme. Question is, does he give those points right back at the other end?
Pelicans coach Monty Williams says Jimmer has “got to fight more on defense.” Or it’s going to be hard to get off that bench.
