Former Miss America, Vanessa Williams, is engaged. She revealed her engagement to Jim Skrip, a former real estate agent and accountant from Buffalo, during a taping of The Queen Latifah Show. The episode will air Tuesday, September 30. Williams was on the show promoting her Broadway play (being performed in Los Angeles) The Trip to Bountiful, co-starring Cicely Tyson and Blair Underwood. Williams plays Jessie Mae Watts in the Horton Foote play.
The 50-year-old beauty queen-turned-actress (Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives) said of her fiancé, he’s “just a nice, regular, gorgeous guy.” Williams met Skrip while she was on vacation with her daughter in Egypt. “You go across the world to find somebody who’s six hours away,” Williams told Latifah and the audience. This will Williams’ third marriage. She was married first to PR exec Ramon Hervey II (they have three grown children together), and second to former NBA player Rick Fox, who recently split from girlfriend Eliza Dushku (Bring It, Eloise) after five years of dating.
