The gaming world has to wait another seven months until it gets its hands on Mortal Kombat X (April 15, 2015). The popular fighting game series is known for its extremely violent content. It’s said to have been the impetus for the establishment of the ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board) which assigns age and content ratings to games. (Various games in the Mortal Kombat series have been banned in various countries.) Fans of bloody violence won’t be disappointed with Mortal Kombat X – so far four new fierce-looking playable characters have been announced by NetherRealm Studios.
D’Vorah fights with an army of insects. Her fighting style is said to resemble Reptile’s in MK9. Ferra/Torr is a motley male/female tag team of sorts. Kotal Kahn who resembles an Aztec eagle warrior and is said to have taken over Outworld as its new emperor, replacing Shao Kahn. And then there’s Cassie Cage. Daughter of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade, Cassie is soft on the eyes and has a “Hollywood fighting style.” In the trailer she shoots her female opponent in the head, at close range, blows a bubble from the gum in her mouth, and then sticks the wad of gum on the dying woman’s wound.
