A Los Angeles lawyer is in trouble because she advertised her business by using fake photo-ops with celebrities, according to Reuters. Attorney Svitlana Sangary could be suspended for using software to place herself in photos with Barack Obama, George Clooney and Anne Hathaway–just for starters. Sangary used the fake photos on her website to attract clients. She might expect some leniency: it is a Los Angeles case, after all. Celebrity is the local currency.
The fake celebrity photo case went before the California state bar court and Judge Donald Miles found in his opinion that the fake pics were “created by taking original celebrity photos and then overlaying respondent’s image in order to make it appear as though (she) was in the presence of that celebrity.” Sangara could have just gone to Madame Tussauds.
