The soft-spoken and seemingly humble Ma led the Alibaba Group to its record-breaking American IPO on September 19, 2014. Alibaba accounts for 80 percent of China’s online sales. Mr. Ma and his family are worth $25 billion after the Alibaba IPO, according to the Hurun Rich List compiled by a Shanghai-based research group, Hurun Report.
