Alex Lanchester isn’t taking this kind of treatment lying down. Her rat fink fiance called her–pretending to be his own grieving father–and with a disguised voice told her he was dead. Alex, a 23-year-old woman from England, naturally burst into tears on hearing the news that her American fiance, Tucker Blandford, had been so depressed he threw himself in front of a moving car. How do we know about all this fakery and treachery? Because Lanchester is pivoting. She’s moving on. And step one is to acknowledge where you’ve been, right? So the screwed-over Lanchester told her story to Paisley Gilmour at the Mirror. Gave her a bunch of photos too, of the happy couple before the wedding reception became the wedding deception.
Besides creating a beauty of a film role for the next-generation Vince Vaughn, Lanchester really sticks it to Blandford just the way you’d hope. She claims: “I’d never been in love like that before. I met his family and they treated me like a daughter. His mum and I became so close.” But basically, she concludes, what an ass that former fiance of mine. Thank goodness I woke up to this fact in time. Maybe it was the text Blandford sent a few days later admitting he lied. If this story hasn’t been optioned in Hollywood yet, there’s no ice in Iceland.
