Americans, if they could do it over again, would have elected Mitt Romney as president in 2012 election. A CNN poll says that Romney would beat Obama 53 percent to 44 percent. An earlier poll also had Romney winning, but not by as much. Obama won the actual election with just over 50 percent of the vote.
Romney hasn’t had much political impact since the election, so the result is more likely a condemnation of Obama’s performance than a straight-up preference for the former GOP candidate. The poll took place between July 18-20, 2014. CNN interviewed 1,012 American adults by phone.
