Game of Thrones scribe George R.R. Martin is 65 and in the middle of what you might call a big project. Or a hot project. Or maybe you could call it the most highly anticipated book project in the world–given the wild popularity of his incredible creation, Game of Thrones. But instead of being grateful to Martin for conjuring the imaginary Westeros and all that’s in it, some Martin fans are pretty obsessed about the fact that he might die. Rather, that he might die soon–before he finishes the final two books of his epic A Song of Ice and Fire, on which Game of Thrones is based.
The full blown paranoia among some Game of Thrones fans about the state of Martin’s health irks him a little. Well, a lot (see image below). There are two words for the gesture GRRM is making there–and he used them during an interview with the Swiss magazine Tagesanzeiger, aiming them at the people who think he’ll die before he finishes. The plot of the HBO megahit Game of Thrones, which just won a boatload of Emmys, is catching up to the point in the plot where Martin left off.
