Ariana Grande’s 90-year-old grandfather passed away yesterday and she and her 16.8 million followers went on Twitter to pay their respects. Grande’s announcement via Twitter: “thank you for your continuous love & light over the past few weeks… we did lose my favorite person to ever exist yesterday, my grandpa :'(” was retweeted more than 26,000 times. Ariana’s mother, Joan Grande, is also active on Twitter. She tweets to her 153k followers while watching her other child, Frankie, a contestant on Big Brother 16. Ariana’s father, Edward Butera, mines a smaller following on Twitter (18k). It could be because he doesn’t follow Ariana’s brother @FrankieJGrande (who has 646k followers), and tweets mostly about the weather and fishing in Ariana’s hometown of Boca Raton, Florida. (Frankie’s not his son, but some of Frankie’s followers surely must go fishing.)
