A 36-year-old actress who had roles on Walking Dead and The Blind Side was sentenced to an 18-year prison sentence for the making and possession of a biological toxin. She pleaded guilty in December, having been arrested last June. CBS News reports that Shannon Richardson sent ricin-laced letters to President Barack Obama and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. She wasn’t trying to hurt anybody, she told the court–yet her husband may think otherwise. After mailing the letters, Richardson went to the police and told them her husband had done it. The couple was getting a divorce. Apparently she wanted him to go away for about 18 years.
Richardson bought the materials online to make the deadly toxin. Then she learned how to process it into a potent biological weapon. Then she simply put it in the mail. Shannon Richardson sometimes went by the stage name Shannon Guess.
