The sequestration shouldn’t scare us
It’s no bad-batteried flying Airbus
But what brought it on, we sure should fear:
The poison in the atmosphere
That makes this game of chicken real
When the whole idea was to force a deal!
Don’t, please, don’t turn the water off
Or stop the medicine for mom’s cough
You Super PAC supplicant congressmen
Just figure it out and tell us then
We’re busy now with evening prayers
With tomorrow’s lunchbox, closer cares
You’ve spent too much, we’ve seen the bill
So cut some stuff up on your Hill
But stop with the cliffs and moronic sequesters
Stop prancing around like high court jesters
Muster some dignity, work at the task
There’s trillions of dollars: just fix it, don’t ask.
