A woman who was struck by a baseball two years ago at a Little League game in Manchester, New Jersey is now suing the player who threw the ball. Elizabeth Lloyd is seeking more than $150,000 for medical expenses, in addition to an unknown amount to compensate for the pain and suffering she underwent after then eleven year-old Matthew Migliaccio threw an errant ball while warming up a pitcher. The Migliaccio family also faces legal action from Lloyd’s husband, who claims he lost the “services, society and consortium of his wife” as a result of the overthrow/overthrown ball.
Migliaccio is, however, far from the youngest person to have faced legal action in this country. In 2010, when Manhattan resident Julie Breitman was brought to court for crashing her bicycle into an elderly woman, she was four years and nine months old.
