Paul Ryan’s wife Janna, a former tax attorney and corporate lobbyist, has a degree from Wellesley College in Massachusetts, an elite women’s school where a young student named Hillary Rodham was the first-ever student commencement speaker — in 1969 (see below). Hillary Rodham, of course, became Hillary Clinton. Years later Janna Little attended Wellesley College, a training ground for American political, social and business elite. Janna, like Hillary Clinton before her, took up for liberal causes while at Wellesley, even joining a march on Washington for women’s rights. After she met Paul Ryan while working as a Washington lobbyist, Janna gave up her career to focus on her family in Wisconsin, which now includes three children. Hillary Clinton’s path was, of course, much different.
After graduating from Wellesley in 1991, Janna earned her law degree at George Washington University Law School. Wellesley has produced a multitude of accomplished women, including author Judith Krantz, writer/director Nora Ephron, physicist Louise Dolan, journalist Diane Sawyer, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and countless others.
