Give a man a lie you get him an advantage; teach him to lie you set him up for life. Or something like that. Douglas Williams, owner of polygraph.com (currently offline), pleaded guilty this week to obstruction of justice, among other crimes, for teaching people how to beat polygraph tests. The 69-year-old former cop from Oklahoma specialized in training people to effective lie and conceal information when they applied for federal, state and local law enforcement jobs.
“Lying, deception and fraud cannot be allowed to influence the hiring of national security and law enforcement officials, particularly when it might affect the security of our borders,” said Assistant Attorney General Caldwell in a statement released by the FBI. Williams also taught lying to people on parole and probation, in addition to candidates for jobs in law enforcement. He even taught the liars to lie about having been trained by him, but the students were not as good as the teacher –and Williams paid the price. All to make just $50 a session.
