If there is one distinction the American voter will have to become more familiar with as social media, standard media, multiple video platforms and every other kind of influencer messaging tools proliferate, it’s the difference between the signal and the noise.
[NOTE: “The signal is the meaningful information that you’re actually trying to detect. The noise is the random, unwanted variation or fluctuation that interferes with the signal.”]
In American politics, with these myriad new communications tools at the ready, the noise is increasingly and deliberately used to obscure the signal.
Below is a concise post from U.S. Congressman Dan Goldman (D-NY) about the conclusions to be drawn — the signal — from the Devon Archer testimony before Congress this week. Goldman drops his two-bullet truth bomb after revealing he was the only lawmaker who bothered to stay for the entire testimony.
[NOTE: Archer is a former business partner of Hunter Biden, the President’s son who Archer said sold the “illusion” of access to his famous father.]
I just left the interview of Devon Archer and I was the only member who stayed for the whole time.

These are the facts:
1) Archer testified that Joe Biden NEVER discussed any business with Hunter and his associates.
2) there was no bribe from Burisma to Joe or Hunter.
MAGA Republicans have pointed to Archer’s testimony as evidence that Joe Biden was involved in corruption and bribery. Goldman, offering what he characterizes as the signal instead of the noise, says the following:
- Archer testified that Joe Biden NEVER discussed any business with Hunter and his associates
- There was no bribe from Burisma to Joe or Hunter
The noise in this case, as Democrats see it, is the continual accusations against the so-called “Biden crime family” — unaccompanied by credible evidence.
It is noise that is purposefully designed — in the Democrats’ estimation — to create a false equivalency between former President Trump‘s alleged crimes (for which he has been indicted) and President Biden‘s alleged crimes (for which actionable evidence has yet to surface).
The post below by conservative Congressman Ronny Jackson is indicative of noise that’s meant, as Goldman sees it, to blur or obscure the signal. It’s what his tweet is meant to combat.
Unlike what Goldman asserts — that Archer’s testimony clears Biden — Jackson implies that the Archer testimony implicates him. Jackson concludes that “Biden’s been taking bribes for decades” and calls the President a “CRIMINAL!”
He’s specifically testified that they never discussed “business,” but Ronny is being Ronny. pic.twitter.com/MF5cppdOfK

As for the proof of Joe Biden’s criminal behavior, his chief antagonists on the House Oversight Committee — Rep. Jim Jordan and Rep. James Comer — were cautious despite the Archer testimony. “I hope so,” the Congressmen replied, when asked if they might now prove some of their allegations. “There’s a lot of smoke,” said Comer.
This investigation has uncovered ZERO evidence connected to President Biden.

In fact, the evidence is clear that President Biden had nothing to do with Hunter’s businesses.
The American people are tired of this wild goose chase and I urge @RepJamesComer to close it immediately.
