Former President Donald Trump has a good record on making predictions, often being first with scoops announcing information that has yet to become public.
Trump has broken news this way especially when it comes to developments in his own legal predicaments, such as when he announced in March that he would be indicted in New York City — making his announcement on social media long before the New York District Attorney’s office made a public statement about Trump’s case.
Trump gives the news his own spin this way, framing the narrative from his perspective for those who follow him.
So when Trump predicted two weeks ago that the District Attorney in Atlanta would be “dropping all charges against me for lack of a case,” speculation roared that Trump had inside information that led him to make that prediction. The D.A. Trump excoriated in his post, Fani Willis, made no response.
This makes me think that he, or his lawyers, were told something. Maybe not, but this seems rather random for him to make this prediction today. pic.twitter.com/VakCVDFnVD

This time, however, Trump’s prediction machine seems to have been fed bad fuel, as there has been no indication of Willis’s office dropping the charges against Trump. Without that predicted development in the case, Trump’s lawyers this week filed new petitions seeking to throw out evidence, ban the empaneled Grand Jury from hearing the evidence, and to get Willis removed from the proceedings.
The movement from Trump’s side in the case indicates the former President no longer believes Willis is dropping all charges against him in the investigation, which centers on his post-election conduct in Georgia.
