Former The View star Meghan McCain uses print media more than TV lately — the self-described “rabble rouser” has been writing a regular opinion column for the English tabloid Daily Mail since September 2021. But McCain still knows how to give the camera what it wants, as she amply demonstrated on her recent sit-down with Piers Morgan.
McCain — no fan of former President Donald Trump, who famously insulted her father, the late U.S. Senator and war hero John McCain — thanked Morgan for having her on for “Indictment Day” — a bit as if it were a national holiday.
Thank you for having me on “indictment day” @piersmorgan! 🇺🇸 🇬🇧 pic.twitter.com/5PNLu1Onwi

McCain shared her opinion on the Trump’s indictment, telling Morgan it’s “huge, something my children will read about in the history books. It’s disheartening, it’s depressing, as an American it’s embarrassing.”
McCain continued, saying: “I’m interested in how the current group of people running for president on the Republican ticket are going to be handling it going forward, because right now a lot of them are defending him.”
She added: “37 counts, that’s a lot.”
McCain made her appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored immediately following the host’s conversation with hellfire Trump supporter Kari Lake, the former Arizona gubernatorial candidate.
As seen in the video above, when Morgan welcomed McCain to the show, he admitted that she followed a “very robust defense for Donald Trump from Kari Lake,” which made McCain laugh.
Morgan told McCain, “I can’t imagine you share that view,” to which a smiling McCain replied: “I’d just like to say I think you’re like one of the most even-keeled journalists working in media.”
Morgan joined in the laughter and yelled, “Thank you!” Still laughing McCain says, “I didn’t understand how antagonistic she was, but I find it very entertaining.” Below is dialogue between Morgan and Lake that entertained McCain.
Note: Morgan, who won Donald Trump’s reality TV show Celebrity Apprentice in 2008 — while John McCain was running for president — said in the aftermath of the January 6 Capitol attack that Trump was “mentally unfit” to remain president. Morgan later launched his Uncensored show (in April 2022) with Trump as his first guest.
