When not promoting his new reality TV show Stars on Mars, former professional road racing cyclist Lance Armstrong is engaging other celebrities in “spirited debate.”
As seen in the video below, while on his way to Caitlyn Jenner‘s house in Malibu, Armstrong says he plans to talk about “trans in sport” with the former Olympic gold medal-winning decathlete, who came out as a trans woman in 2015.
In 2022, Jenner said that trans swimmer Lia Thomas was not the “rightful winner” of the NCAA Division I women’s 500-yard freestyle event, adding, “It’s not transphobic or anti-trans, it’s COMMON SENSE!”
Have we really come to a time and place where spirited debate is not only frowned upon, but feared? Where people’s greatest concern is being fired, shamed or cancelled? As someone all too familiar with this phenomenon, I feel I'm uniquely positioned to have these conversations. pic.twitter.com/De7xs3PUq3

In the video, Armstrong says: people tend to be scared of being “fired, shamed or cancelled” for having conversations on such sensitive topics. “Turns out, I’m not that afraid of that.” He says the best way to enter such a conversation is to “go in fearlessly.” Armstrong adds, “I’m sort of fearless on this one.”
Armstrong’s talk with Jenner will air on his The Forward podcast on Saturday, July1. Armstrong’s wide-ranging guest list has include Wolfgang Puck, Malcolm Gladwell, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Chris Evert and the Avett Brothers.
