Meghan McCain is a self-described “rabble rouser” — and her commentary draws opinions like flame draws the proverbial moth. (That’s part of its purpose.) McCain’s most recent target is the ever vulnerable New York Times and its “puff piece” on convicted felon Elizabeth Holmes, the blood test scammer who according to the NYT has “adopted a new persona.”
McCain expresses fury at the space given to Holmes in the “paper of record,” pointing out that “no person of color who is a convicted felon about to go to prison that would get such a slobbering puff piece attempting to exonerate their reputation.”
She accuses the Times of perpetrating “SHAMELESS white woman privilege” upon its readers and while many agree with the “shameless” part, McCain hears plenty of dissenting opinions and some personal trolling.

This is SHAMELESS white woman privilege – something she had used to her benefit to con billions of dollars for her… https://t.co/FS3mvRd79t
Many readers don’t believe it’s a case of racial (“white woman”) privilege — they think it’s about money, status, and fame.
It’s absurd I agree….but seriously…”race”??? 🙄

Agree but don’t think it’s race that gives her her privilege

And then some readers are wondering if McCain has adequate self-awareness, since in their viewpoint McCain too enjoys white woman privilege, inherited wealth, and “nepo baby” fame.
Holy pot kettle black Batman!

Another employs McCain’s use of all caps for shameless, writing: “you SHAMELESSLY leverage your John McCain’s daughter white woman privilege daily.”
I mean…you SHAMELESSLY leverage your John McCain’s daughter white woman privilege daily to bilk others for money.

No one in the comments points out another tweet by McCain recently that illustrates just how hard it is for McCain — or anyone in today’s society — to maintain consistency about what privilege is, when it should be disdained or maintained, how racial history affects society and other troubling issues that seep in everywhere.
McCain’s slamming the white woman privilege of Elizabeth Holmes comes the same week she celebrated the ultimate white privilege, the coronation of King Charles III. McCain gave a special shout out to a certain Princess. If that isn’t white woman privilege, what is?
Absolutely slayed the house down. I ♥️ this and ♥️ her!!
