Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene didn’t get a lot of support in the comments yesterday for her tweet concerning Hunter Biden‘s court date about child support, which is not by congressional standards considered a matter of national security.
However, Greene’s “obsession” with Biden — as more than one commenter calls it — rolls on unabated, even as a seeming majority of comments implore the congresswoman to get to work helping her constituents. Yet Greene is effective at feeding — and helping to create — the MAGA hunger for a salacious Hunter Biden narrative, and despite claims that she’s using it to deflect attention, the content has its audience and effect.

When that failed to get the response Greene might have hoped for, she returned to Hunter Biden again today, writing: “Do you want to know how corrupt Washington DC is? The same people who did nothing about convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein have also done nothing about Hunter Biden.” Greene did not say which powerful people she was referring to.

The second Hunter Biden tweet, linking the president’s son to Jeffrey Epstein, has a million views so far — the appetite for this story evidently insatiable among MAGA adherents.
Greene next erupted in a long rant against both political parties and tying her Biden obsession — the president’s “son at the head of the criminal enterprise running the show while also involved in human sex trafficking, and literally everyone in Washington has known for years” — together with a bleak and dismal vision of contemporary America that most closely echoes Donald Trump‘s invocation during his inauguration of “American carnage.”
Greene writes that “You’ve all been trained to be loyal to political party’s just like you are loyal to a sports team, but for our country’s very own survival, you must put down your mascot and see things clearly.”
