While former President Donald Trump traveled from Florida to New York City where he is being arraigned on more than 30 felony charges, former Speaker of the House of Representatives Newt Gingrich traveled to Vatican City with his wife, Callista Gingrich, whom Trump swore in as U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See in 2017 (photo below).
Gingrich — who is known for impeaching President Bill Clinton and unsuccessfully running for the 2012 Republican nomination for President of the United States, among other things — has supported Trump’s false claims of voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election.
Gingrich has also supported the argument that Trump’s current legal problems are politically motivated, recently retweeting Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s opinion on it.
Alvin Bragg has irreparably damaged our country in an attempt to interfere in our Presidential election.

As he routinely frees violent criminals to terrorize the public, he weaponized our sacred system of justice against President Donald Trump.
The American people will not…
But Gingrich isn’t in the streets of NYC protesting, like others in the MAGA GOP like Marjorie Taylor Greene. Gingrich is presumably just praying for the former POTUS — based on his whereabouts and the company he’s keeping.
This week, Mrs. Gingrich is sharing photos (above and below) from their visit at Vatican City.
Note: Newt Gingrich was raised a Lutheran and converted to Catholicism, the faith of his current wife.
Gingrich says Pope Benedict XVI‘s visit to the U.S. in 2008 influenced his decision. According to The New York Times, the Catholic Church “recognizes his third marriage as a valid marriage, based on an annulment granted for his second marriage and the passing of his wife from his first.”
