The protagonist of the new CBS first responder drama Fire Country is Bode Donovan (Max Thieriot, creator of the show).
The young ex-con joins “a prison release firefighting program in Northern California where he and other inmates are partnered with elite firefighters to extinguish massive, unpredictable wildfires across the region.” Bode is assigned to his rural hometown (Edgewater) where he was once an all-American.
Cal Fire division chief Sharon — who’s married to fire chief Vince (Billy Burke) — is portrayed by Diane Farr, who’s known for her roles on Californication, Numb3rs, Rescue Me, and Splitting Up Together, among others.
As seen in the video above, Diane Farr gets to deliver the line, “I would watch who you call stupid.” CBS says Sharon holds “girlboss status.”
Fire Country premieres Friday, October 7 at 9 pm on CBS, right after the Season 6 premiere of S.W.A.T. at 8 pm and right before the Season 13 premiere of Blue Bloods at 10 pm.
