In the series premiere of Monarch, ‘Stop at Nothing,’ American TV viewers are introduced to The Romans, a family that’s built a successful a country music dynasty. “When their reign as country royalty is put in jeopardy” — their success is based on a big ole lie — the heir to the crown, Nicolette “Nicky” Roman (Anna Friel), will stop at nothing to protect her family’s legacy.
Oscar Award winner Susan Sarandon (Dead Man Walking) plays Nicolette’s mother, Dottie Cantrell Roman, and real life country singer Trace Adkins plays Nicolette’s father, Albie.
While promoting Monarch on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the talk show host shows her the article: “Has Susan Sarandon Been Wearing the Same Jacket Since 1995?” Sarandon explains that she does often wear a letterman jacket given to her from The Simpsons, and every time she provided a new voice, they added a new patch. In the video above, you can hear Sarandon say, “Get off my case, Vogue.”
Monarch premieres on Sunday, September 11 at 8 pm on FOX immediately following the FOX NFL doubleheader. It then makes its time period premiere Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 9 pm.
