On Season 13 of Shark Tank, two entrepreneurs from Snellville, Georgia — Tim Samuel and Dwayne Walker — pitch Sparketh, their online learning platform designed to empower young students to reach their creative potential through art. Sparketh offers unlimited access to 1000 art lessons for kids and teens (ages 6 to 19) online. The lessons are bite-sized videos taught by talented mentors, and new courses are offered weekly.
The two young men have the good fortune of pitching in front of billionaire Mark Cuban who has invested in early educational companies including Brightwheel, and artistic endeavors including Jiggy (art jigsaw puzzles). But don’t count out Kevin O’Leary.
Mr. Wonderful invested in the kids 3D printer ToyBox, is a collector of modern art (he’s a big fan of Andy Warhol), and don’t forget, he made became a millionaire when he sold his tech ed company SoftKey Software Products (which later changed its name to The Learning Company) to Mattel in 1999.
