On the Season 13 premiere of Shark Tank, Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Kevin O’Leary and Lori Greiner welcome guest Shark Emma Grede to the Tank. Emma is the CEO of fashion juggernaut Good American (with Khloe Kardashian) and founding partner of SKIMS (with Kim Kardashain). Emma is the first Black female guest Shark!
And she has the good fortune of meeting entrepreneur Philomina Kane, who pitches her brilliant hair hoodie company KIN.
Philomina explains: “traditional hoodies leave hair dry, fizzy, and prone to breakage due to the moisture-absorbing fabric which causes friction. Satin is a soft and smooth material that doesn’t absorb moisture as cotton does. With satin-lined hoodies, both men and women can protect their hair and keep it moisturized.” Sounds like a great product to sell with Good American and/or SKIMS!

Prior to launching KIN, Philomina created content for her popular YouTube channel NaturallyPhillo, where she “empowers women of color to embrace their natural selves’ by saying no to relaxers and stepping into the natural hair revolution.” NaturallyPhillo has 187,000 subscribers.
And prior to becoming a YouTube sensation, Philomina studied at Princeton University and interned in the Parasitology Department at Accra, Ghana, where she conducted research on regional Aedes aegypti (mosquitos!) collections. Fun fact: Philomina was born in the Bronx, New York and raised in Ghana.
