Twenty years after making the 2001 David Lynch movie Mulholland Drive, actress Naomi Watts shared the behind-the-scene video below from the set. She refers to it as “the most meaningful and memorable experience in my career.” That’s actor Justin Theroux‘s voice you hear — you can also see him in the shadow, sitting across the table from Naomi. Watch director David Lynch’s reaction after the emotional scene is captured on film. He wasn’t the only one applauding Naomi’s performance.
Theroux replied to Naomi’s post: “Oh Wow. Haven’t see that in so long. So much beautiful work in that short take” with a heartbroken emoji. Naomi replied: “awww thanks J. Was so good to play with you and il maestro 🙌 Too much fun!!”
Get ready to see more of Naomi and Justin: she is currently filming a new horror series, The Watcher, with Ryan Murphy of American Horror Story fame. Watch her get ready for her scenes with a vocal coach in the video above.
And Justin is playing Watergate mastermind G. Gordon Liddy in the upcoming HBO series The White House Plumbers. Woody Harrelson is playing E. Howard Hunt, and David Mandel (Veep, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seinfeld) directs.
