Cassandra Peterson is best known for her character Elvira, the Mistress of the Dark. The 70-year-old actress is reprising her role for The Goldbergs Halloween episode. See sneak peek video below.
When not dressed up as Elvira, in her tight plunging black dress and high hair wig and ghoulish but sexy makeup, Cassandra is promoting her memoir, Yours Cruelly, Elvira: Memoirs of the Mistress of the Dark. RuPaul wrote a blurb for the book: “Friggin’ hilarious! Juicy stories and outrageous revelations!”
In the Entertainment Tonight video below, Cassandra talks about coming out: she’s been living with a woman for the past 19 years. When asked how her fans reacted to the news, Cassandra said she lost 11,000 followers on one of her social media platforms but she gained 60,000 new followers!
Cassandra also talks about kissing Elvis Presley‘ and the time Brad Pitt came to her house when she was nine months pregnant. Brad Pitt wanted to buy her house but ended up moving next door.
Cassandra hopes someone like Dolly Parton plays her in her biopic, and Paul Reubens (Pee-Wee Herman) hopes he gets to play himself “when it becomes a blockbuster movie.”
