If you follow country music mega star Dolly Parton on Instagram, you know she occasionally shares amazing throwback pics and with clever captions. Well, when she shared the photo below, of her soaking in a wooden hot tub below color-turning tree leaves, with the caption: “It’s Fall Y’all”, her fans went wild.
Singer Morgane Stapleton (wife of Chris Stapleton) replied: “This is the only photo anyone needs, ever.” And more than one fan agreed on picking up a “Petticoat Junction vibe.”
Petticoat Junction was a sitcom in the 1960s about a widow and her three daughters who run an inn in the small town of Hooterville, a destination for city folks looking for a little peace and quiet. The town is so quiet, the three young women (one brunette, blonde and redhead) often came up with wild ideas to keep themselves entertained.
As you’ll see in the opening credits of Petticoat Junction above, the sisters took off their petticoats and hanged them over the edge, when they soaked in the water tower of Hooterville!
