Rapper MC Hammer is best known for his 1990 hit song “U Can’t Touch This” and his dance moves including “Hammer Dance” aka the “Typewriter Dance” and “The Bump,” among others. Over the years, he’s released 11 albums including his most recent DanceJamTheMusic, in 2009.
The legendary rapper, dancer and choreographer is also a philanthropist. He’s on a board member of The Last Mile, a non-profit organization that provides computer education and training for prison inmates to become software engineers.
In the photos above and below, Hammer reports that at the Indiana Women’s Prison, he and Advisor to the President Ivanka Trump, Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross and Apple CEO Tim Cook, listened to presentations by the inmates/students. He traded in his iconic drop-crotch pants for a snazzy business suit and sunglasses!
Hammer captioned the photo above of he and Trump: “Enjoyed my conversations on prison reform and reentry with @IvankaTrump today.” Tomorrow we go inside the Women’s Prison to visit @TLM coding classroom at IWP.” Hammer also gave thanks to Indiana Governor Holcomb for hosting.
They also visited the Indianapolis Motor Speedway together!
Hammer, now 56, is in the news now for starring in a Super Bowl LIV ad to announce that Cheetos now makes bags of cheesy popcorn: Chester’s Puffcorn. He’s looking good and selling his brand.
