Patriots legend and record book re-writer Tom Brady doesn’t have an NFL contract or a plan for next year. And that’s alright with him — because the 42-year-old’s football career is already “all borrowed time.”
Besides, not having a plan is no big deal. Consider that none of Brady’s previous plans included the kind of outsize, incredible success he’s experienced so far. How could they? Brady’s football life has been a fairy tale written with the ink of hard work and dedication.
The quarterback told WEEI that he’s “just taking it day by day and I’m enjoying what I have. I don’t know what the future holds, and the great part is, for me, football at this point is all borrowed time.”
The way it’s going for the 7-0 Patriots, Brady figures he can surely borrow some more. His credit is apparently very good at the time bank. One day it will be enough, he says, and “when that day comes, that day comes. I don’t know if it will be after this year. I don’t know if it will be five years from now. ” Yeah, he just said five years.
