The missed dunk in the video below turned the world’s greatest basketball player into Muhammad Ali for a minute. Yup, LeBron James went into poet mode and busted out some Ali-like verse to commemorate his son Bronny almost dunking on somebody in a game.
King James chimed in with “Getting closer and closer/Just hope it’s not you on the other end of a poster.” (Hey, it isn’t float like a butterfly, sting like a bee… but there was only one Ali, the Greatest!)
None other than Shaquille O’Neal tagged in with “OK nephew” and Hollywood star Jamie Foxx said this feels “so good in so many ways.” NFL free agent Dez Bryant said simply “Damn!!!” Other less famous people thought things like, wait, he missed it. He missed the dunk.
But it was the excitement generated by the attempt that drove the people in the gym crazy. The reactions were off the charts and fun to watch, people going wild. Wait till he gets one down. Good of Dad to share the miss — it’ll make the make so much more satisfying.
